On the instructions of Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, under the ongoing campaign against illegal mining, action was taken on a large scale in Udaipur district on Saturday as well.
Mineral Engineer Asif Ansari said that the subdivision level task force constituted under the direction of District Collector Namit Mehta and Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal is continuously monitoring and taking action. In this sequence, 15 cases of illegal mining, export and storage were registered across the district on Saturday. In these, 3 cases of illegal export were registered in subdivision area Girwa and 2 tractor trolleys and 1 dumper were seized. 1 case of illegal stock was registered and about 500 tons of mineral gravel was seized. In subdivision area Mavli police station Mavli, 2 cases were registered against illegal mining and 2 JCBs and 2 tractor trolleys and 4 tons of minerals were seized. While transporting, 3 tractor trolleys and 2 dumpers carrying about 44 tonnes of minerals were seized.
Ansari said that during the campaign so far, a total of 65 cases of illegal mining/export/storage have been registered and Rs. 3.84 lakh has been recovered.
